visual designer, educator, & matcha enthusiast
Hey, Amina here!
I am a designer based in Northern Virginia. I specialize in brand design and identity, but I also like to dabble in web design and digital illustration! I love the challenge that comes with design as it encourages me to stay curious and be in tune with my creative self. When I am creating, I am thriving and I've found my niche in freelancing and helping other creatives bring their vision to life!
When I am not designing, you can find me traveling, experimenting in the kitchen, or sipping on some good ol’ matcha!
What’s My Story?
How it Started . . .
I actually started my undergrad as an engineer, but I soon realized it wasn’t for me. Growing up I used to help design logos and flyers for family and friends, but I never thought much of it. Turns out I liked design more than I thought because soon enough I found myself enrolling in all the design classes and then working as a graphic design assistant at my university. By senior year, I found myself graduating with a double major in Design and Education.
Choosing my Passion . . .
After graduating, I felt like there was still a lot more I wanted to learn and that is how I ended up pursuing my MFA in design. This is where I truly began to hone in on my skills, discover new sides of myself, and really challenge my abilities. I also had the opportunity to TA a few classes and ultimately teach my very first design class. Pursuing my MFA was one of the most rewarding experiences and it has helped me feel that much more excited to share my passion with others!
How it’s Going . . .
After graduating, I rediscovered brand design and decided to start my own business and just have a go at it! So far this experience has been so rewarding and I have had the opportunity to be able to work with some truly awesome people! Working with others who are passionate about their work and helping them bring their vision to life is something that excites me and keeps my creative juices flowing. I'm so excited to see where this journey continues to take me!
